Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 8, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how My IP processes information when you use our public IP address and connection information service.

Information we process

When you visit My IP, your public IP address is automatically transmitted as part of normal Internet communication. The site may use that address to display approximate information such as country, region, city, time zone and Internet service provider.

Approximate location

Location information shown by My IP is estimated from network and IP address data. It does not represent your precise GPS location or exact home address and may not always be accurate.

Browser and device information

The site may process basic technical information provided by your browser, including browser type, operating system, device category, language and similar connection details.

Information you enter into our tools

The IP Address Lookup and Reverse DNS tools process the public IP address that you submit. The DNS Lookup tool processes the domain or hostname and record type that you submit. The WHOIS Lookup tool processes the domain name or URL that you submit and retrieves public registration data through RDAP. These queries are transmitted to the services needed to return the requested result. Do not enter passwords, authentication tokens or other confidential information into these fields.

DNS and reverse DNS requests made through the browser may be sent to Google Public DNS. IP lookup requests may be processed through My IP's server and third-party IP information providers. WHOIS Lookup requests are sent through My IP's server to the authoritative RDAP service selected using the IANA RDAP bootstrap directory. Requests can also appear in ordinary hosting, security or provider logs.

How information is used

Technical information may be used to display requested results, operate and improve the website, understand aggregate usage, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, protect the service and support advertising. My IP does not provide user accounts and does not ask visitors to create a personal profile to use its tools.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

My IP uses analytics and advertising services, including Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or similar technologies to measure visits, understand site usage, prevent fraud and serve or measure advertisements.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve advertisements based on a visitor's prior visits to My IP or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve, personalize and measure ads. Other advertising vendors or networks used by My IP may also place or read cookies, use web beacons or process IP addresses as a result of serving advertisements.

Google and its advertising partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's activity on My IP or other websites. You can learn how Google processes information from partner sites on Google's partner sites policy page.

Advertising choices

You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. You may also review opt-out choices for participating advertising providers at YourAdChoices. Other advertising vendors and networks used on the site may provide their own privacy information and opt-out controls.

You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing information about visits with Google Analytics.

You can also manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some website or advertising features.

Third-party services

My IP relies on third-party services to provide IP information, approximate geolocation, maps, analytics and advertising. When these services receive a request from your browser, they may process your IP address and other technical information needed to deliver their service.

Depending on the page and availability, these services may include Google Analytics and Google AdSense; Google Public DNS; IANA's RDAP bootstrap directory and authoritative domain registry RDAP services; IP and geolocation providers such as ipapi.co, ipwho.is, FreeIPAPI and ipify; OpenStreetMap map tiles; Leaflet resources delivered through a content delivery network; FlagCDN; and hosting and security infrastructure. Advertising is provided through Google AdSense. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Consent and regional privacy choices

Where required by applicable law or advertising platform policies, visitors may be shown controls for cookies, personalized advertising, analytics or similar technologies. Available choices can depend on location and the services active on a particular page. Browser settings can also be used to block or remove cookies.

Some privacy laws may provide rights to request access, correction, deletion or restriction of certain personal data, or to object to or opt out of certain processing. These rights depend on your location and may be subject to legal exceptions. Requests concerning data held by a third-party provider may need to be directed to that provider.

Data retention

My IP does not maintain a public account database for visitors. Hosting, security, analytics, advertising and lookup providers may retain technical data and query information according to their own retention settings, operational needs and legal obligations. Retention periods therefore vary by provider and type of information.

International processing

My IP is available internationally. Third-party providers may process information on servers located outside your country. Privacy protections and legal requirements can differ between jurisdictions.

Server logs

Our hosting and security providers may automatically record technical logs, such as IP address, requested page, date and time, browser information and error data. These logs may be used to operate, protect and troubleshoot the website.

Children's privacy

My IP is a general-purpose Internet utility and is not directed specifically at children. We do not intentionally request names, contact information or account registration from children.

Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to operate and protect the website, but no Internet transmission, third-party service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the site, its services or applicable requirements change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its updated date.
